Qualifications 1. Ability to perform skilled tasks to assist in maintaining the church facility and grounds (i.e., plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, landscaping). 2. Ability to perform custodial duties as required. 3. Ability to get along well with staff and church members. 4. Ability to take instructions from immediate supervisor and work with other staff members. 5. Ability to make decisions based on outlined duties, church policy and procedures. 6. Ability to work without close supervision. 7. Must show initiative in performing custodial work. 8. Ability to physically lift tables and chairs and set up rooms. To Whom Responsible Facilities Director Responsibilities 1. Assist Facilities Director in daily maintenance, custodial, and administrative tasks. 2. Handle daily custodial duties as outlined by the Facilities Director, and/or Church Administrator, including opening and closing of the building when necessary. 3. Ensure that the church is clean and set up for scheduled activities in coordination with the Office Manager, Facilities Manager, staff and members. 4. Make needed repairs and installations to the building and grounds as needed and/or as directed by or in coordination with the Facilities Director. 5. Work with Facilities Director to acquire as much knowledge about the church facilities and complicated systems. 6. With Facilities Director and Trustees Chair, oversee all building and maintenance contracts including but not limited to HVAC, lawn maintenance, fire extinguisher, elevator, and pest control 7. Order and maintain supplies including cleaning supplies, paper products, and church pantry items. Specific Duties 1. Perform skilled maintenance repairs and Installations to the facility in areas including, but not limited to, electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry and landscaping. 2. Assist with HVAC system and HVAC computer. 3. Work with custodial staff to ensure the building is clean by emptying all trash from all areas of the building; dusting; dust mopping; sweeping; vacuuming, mopping, stripping, and waxing of floors; shampooing carpets throughout the building; cleaning of bathroom floors, walls, toilets, sinks, counter tops, and mirrors; washing windows and mini-blinds; wash, dry and put away sheets, dish towels and cloths for church activities, Keystone Adult Day Program and First Steps. 4. Work with the custodial staff to clean the Sanctuary by actions such as removal of all leftover bulletins and other trash, dust pews, dust mop, and mop floor. 5. Perform General Maintenance as assigned, such as replacing light bulbs, both inside and outside the building; doing yard work (weeding and other tasks as necessary); keeping all closets neat and orderly; and working with all repair crews, firemen, and police when needed. 6. Prepare rooms for meetings, including setting up and taking down of all tables, chairs, and other items needed. 7. Provide support of church security procedures, including making sure all doors and windows are locked and secured and alarm is set before building is closed for the day. Be aware of strangers in and on the premises. Alert the Facilities Director and the church office of their presence. Call police or firemen if situation requires it. 8.
