Job Function: Fabrication / Carpentry / Prototyping / Installation Description: Factioned is a design/build firm focused on interior design and architectural scale manufacturing. Our projects encompass complete environments, large scale feature installations, custom lighting elements, sculptures, custom furniture, or any number of requests from our clients. We are a group of designers with varying backgrounds including architecture, interior design, industrial design, graphic design, photography, painting and sculpture. Our team has extensive custom fabrication and construction experience giving us the foresight to design executable projects. We provide a one-stop shop for our customers, and take on a wide array of projects, from designing small one-off residential fixtures, to developing and executing complex feature elements in the retail industry, to implementing our designs for full interior environments (mixed use developments, showrooms, pop-ups, etc.). We are seeking a Freelance Fabricator / Shop Hand / Installer who enjoys jumping into a range of new project types on a moments notice (well maybe not a moment, but within a week or two). Assist with general carpentry work in our prototyping facility (Table Saw, Compound Miter Saw, CNC router)…definitely. Piece together intricate parts and hardware for a 3D custom designed, mixed material, mechanical model… absolutely. Build and install furniture in a customer’s work space or home…for sure. Essentially we’re looking for that go-to, all around handy person, jack of all trades. Specific Skills: 3-5 years of general carpentry experience with strong mechanical aptitude Knowledge of industrial and manufacturing process, along with a comfortability with hand and power tools Experience with a variety of materials (woods, metals, multiple plastic types / acrylics) and finishes Able to read and translate drawings into finished goods Flexible, adaptable, self motivated, self aware, and detail oriented Organized and capable planner. Must be able to meet set timelines *Knowledge working with and in CAD programs – Adobe Creative Suite of products (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, Rhino, AutoCAD, is a huge plus!
