Description

After days “interviewing” potential homes for Gemma, the 7 month old Cane Corso, attempting to get ahold of the breeder so she could go where she was happiest, I’m emotionally exhausted after constantly hitting a dead end. Gemma came from a home with 15+ aged kids so younger, loud, fast, crazy kids make her nervous. She seems to not mind my infant. Trying to work with her nervousness with my children has put me on edge. I tried to have breeder take her back as it didn’t seem to be a good fit and as time goes on, and trying, I still don’t believe we are the right home for Gemmas needs. Due to the lack of responsible breeders, I’m left trying to find Gemma the perfect home because they failed to do so. Gemma would most likely do best in a home with no children or older children. Or a infant that she can watch grow and learn over time to accept. Gemma needs consistency. Routine. Someone who knows the breed and will do right by her. Or someone who is very experienced in the breed and comfortable with the risk while she adjusts. She does fine with our male dog. She does chase cats but hasn’t show aggression towards her. She is not food aggressive nor does she resource guard. She is crate trained and house broken. She loves destroying stuffies and eating frozen bananas. She walks great on a leash. Gemma will need her family to have an understanding of what she is going through while trying to adjust and learn who to trust. She isn’t going to be loving at first. She will absolutely take time to warm up. She will bark at you I’m sure. She’s a guardian breed and she’s trying to figure out who is her leader. Gemma does NOT have a bad history or background. The breeders said she was an amazing dog and a great girl. She was a little spoiled and it shows. Gemma does have a rehoming fee. It is not what she originally cost but it’s not a super cheap fee. I have it what I do because I know someone will pay the fee that wants her to love and give a forever home. I have it at what I do because I know someone who just wants to fight or toss outside will not pay the fee. This breed takes work and she is worth what I am asking. And it doesn’t even touch what I invested but will put my mind at ease knowing she’s safe/loved. Gemma is the most gorgeous girl with the most beautiful eyes. She’s a puppy full of energy and slobbery kisses. If you think you are the perfect home for her please reach out. I just want her somewhere where she feels safe and happy. Where she can be the BEST version of herself.
