We are looking for people we can train to be Upholsterers! Start as an Upholsterer Trainee! We are a commercial seating manufacturer and are looking for creative people to participate in the growth of our company. We've hired several people in the last few months but see the need to add more staff. There are always opportunities to expand within the company. If you have ever been in a restaurant booth in the San Jose area, you have probably sat on our work. The position of Upholster Trainee involves learning the trade from the ground up. We design and build furniture from scratch as well as reupholster all types of commercial furnishings from Hospitals, Hotels, Restaurants and many other types of upholstered products. Much of the work we do is on the job site. You may be working on Monterey Wharf one day, downtown San Francisco the next and in the main shop in Santa Clara the next. All travel to the job sites is done in company trucks and you are on the clock. Occasionally, jobs even require overnight and out of state trips. If you are unskilled as an upholsterer but are interested in the trainee position, a few related skills are helpful such as: sewing, construction, working with any type of fabrics or draperies, furniture building, wood finishing and painting. Experience working with hand tools. Note: This is a physical job requiring ability to lift 50+ lbs. California drivers license is "nearly" mandatory. Considerations will be made if license is "attainable". What's most important is a good attitude and willingness to do a good job.
