Sailing School Seeks Motivated Individuals for Open Positions

Afterguard Sailing Academy is a sailing school offering open-enrollment American Sailing Association certified courses and we also run a non-profit that serves at-risk youth in our local Bay Area community. We are seeking to hire immediately for the following positions: School Receptionist: Part-time position. Responsibilities include greeting students, answering phones and walk-in questions, responding to emails, team-working with other staff members, handling registration, intake of students, and light data entry. Prior experience in the maritime field preferred but not required, we can train. Ability to work independently and multi-task. Small office team, so the ability to wear many hats is essential. Days/hours are flexible. Could lead to full-time work if interested in working in other open positions. Fleet Care Person: Much like hotel turnover but much cooler because it's on the water, onboard boats! Responsible for pre and post-use cleaning, inventory checks, restocking of supplies, equipment checks. Prior experience working with boats desired but we can train. Also sporadic work inside warehouse, moving equipment and organizing. Part-time hours. Days can be flexible. Need to be reliable and maintain a regular schedule. This position may lead to full-time work if combined with other open positions. Sailing Instructors and USCG Captains: Afterguard is in peak season! Needed are: - Small boat instructors or talented small boat sailors, willing to teach both adults and kids. We have small upcoming youth camps. - ASA certified sailors interested in becoming teachers. ASA instructor evaluator on-site, offering flexible certification schedules to become certified as an ASA instructor. - ASA certified, talented instructors that enjoy working with small groups of students in teaching ASA courses. - USCG licensed Captains to help us restart our Skippered charter options for groups wanting guided charters in the SF Bay.
