Description
Objective: The Irrigation Technician is responsible for the maintenance and repair of existing irrigation. We are looking for a reliable and experienced irrigation technician to install and service our client’s irrigation equipment. As the lead technician, you will be responsible for mapping out irrigation areas, digging trenches, installing equipment, testing the system, and conducting regular maintenance checks. You may also be required to install electrical timer systems, plumb outdoor water tanks, and connect water-recycling systems. To ensure success as an irrigation technician, you should exhibit a strong work ethic, have detailed knowledge of irrigation techniques, and be able to operate heavy machinery when required. Ultimately, a top-level Irrigation Technician can expertly install any sized irrigation system to fit the needs of the client. Responsibilities: 1. Maintain, inspect, and repair existing client irrigation systems 2. Troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine materials and supplies required for repair 3. Conduct monthly wet checks on Big Tree maintenance properties 4. Routinely inspect irrigation system components to ensure the system is operating properly 5. Completing wet check reports and associated paperwork 6. Communicate with homeowners and property managers to explain needed repairs and associated cost Qualifications & Specific Skills: 1. Commercial irrigation technician experience and electrical timer systems preferred 2. Competent verbal and written communication skills in English – Bilingual Spanish 3. Ability to create and read site maps and colored charts/legends 4. Strong interpersonal communication skills 5. Very strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage changing priorities and work independently 6. A dedication to learning and improving company standards, procedures, and goals 7. Willingness to work long hours, including overtime and weekends, and assist with other projects 8. Ability to work in extreme weather conditions typical to Southwest Florida (i.e., heat, rain, high humidity) 9. Possess pertinent physical requirements commensurate with the job 10.
