Description

Hike will be led by Park Ranger Paul Katz. The hike is about 3–4-miles round trip taking about 2.5 hours on a somewhat level but slightly uneven trail with the exception of a 50-foot stretch that is slightly down hill on the path to the creek bridge and then a 50 foot stretch up the other side from the bridge all on a clear trail not requiring hand holds. Folks often use a walking stick but not necessary. Note that all the indications of the town have been removed to discourage folks digging for artifacts. Evidence of the Mill site still exist in the form of remains of the foundation. The hike will be a combination of history and the story of survival/renewal of a logged redwood forest. Be sure to bring sunblock, bug repellent, water, and snacks as needed. FEES - There is a $8 vehicle day-use fee. [Regular Sized Auto: $8 (Senior $7, age 62 or older); Bus Parking (10-24 passengers): $50; Bus Parking (25+ passengers): $100]
