GRITS Inc. is hosting Root + Bloom, a Screening and Fundraising Event, on August 13, 2022, at 6 pm at the VenU by Roseburg. This will be an event you won't forget. It will feature the short film Food as Resistance and serve as a fundraiser. Food as Resistance informs the audience of the systemic realities that impact our food systems and how narrative change of cultural foods can be part of our Resistance. The audience will get to screen the film with the opportunity to participate in a Q&A with GRITS Inc. Executive Director Sade Meeks following the screening. The event will also unveil GRITS’ big vision of building a headquarters in Jackson, MS. Join us for a night of art, food, and a raffle. Artist, Sara Jene will showcase her “food as resistance” inspired art installation. The audience will get a chance to participate in a surprise raffle. And everyone will indulge in heavy hors d'oeuvres prepared by Chef Enrika Williams. Get your tickets TODAY!
