Stories in Power Initiative Overview: Health Forward Foundation is partnering with Ad Astra Community Innovations Group to examine how communities have experienced power – or the lack of power – in decisions that affect their lives. Exploring power is important to better understand how we advance health equity and justice. The goal of Stories in Power is to engage those in the community to lift stories that may help us better understand experiences of those in our community with power, particularly community power. Paint and SIP combines data gathering with the creative arts to explore and understand community power among members of the community. Those who participate don’t have to be artists or even good with art. At the session, there will be a session guide who will help us paint and consider power through art.When: Tuesday, June 28, 6:00-8:00 pm (food will be provided)Where: Urban Station, 401 N. 14th St, Kansas City, KS 66102Stipend: You will receive a $25 participation stipend for your time and attendance at the session. Additionally, you may also receive an additional $10 referral incentive if you choose to also refer others who then participate in this event or activity. To receive the participant referral incentive, those you refer do need to attend the session.
