St. Joseph School District Preschool programs serves children who turn 4 by August 1 of the current school year, and 3 & 4 year old children who have delays that qualify them for special services by Missouri law. Community Action Partnership's Head Start Program serves children 3 years of age and older who qualify for the program. At the screening event, you will have the opportunity to learn about options for both SJSD Preschool and Head Start. Certified Parent Educators and School District Staff will screen each child in the following areas: Overall Health ReviewVision ScreeningHearing ScreeningDental ScreeningDevelopmental Screening (including motor, language, thinking skills, and social emotional)Please plan for about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to complete the entire process.
