Two Italian brothers, Primo and Secundo, own a restaurant in 50s era New York, but are on the verge of bankruptcy. The problem? The eldest brother Primo is too good a chef for an American public that wants spaghetti and meatballs. To save the restaurant they put on one big party for a famous Jazz musician and his band hoping it would be the turning point that they need to save the restaurant. Showing both the stresses and joys of both cooking and family, Big Night is one of those comfort movies that you can watch at any time and enjoy. High-Brow/Low-Brow/Uni-Brow is a monthly film series programmed by Andrew Linn dedicated to exploring films from every corner of taste and seeing what they have to say with each other.
