As a self ordained expert on electric vehicles, I was quite surprised that you failed to mention the fact that the batteries would have to be changed at around one hundred fifty thousand miles. If I were a suspicious type person, I would think that you left out that information on purpose. It could have just been an oversight on your part but still, there is that lingering doubt that it was intentional.
While redoing your math, don't forget to take into consideration the fact that after two or three years or one hundred fifty thousand miles on the malibu, you could trade it in for a new malibu with about a fourteen thousand dollar trade in allowance instead of paying 20 or 30 thousand for new batteries for your 2 or 3 year old one hundred thousand mile tesla.
