Every year the ARRL conducts a national event called Field Day. This is where Amateur Radio operators setup and operate radios in public locations where they do not normally set up. This event is to attract new people into the hobby and to exercise the ability to set up communications during post disaster scenarios. We will be encouraging Non Ham Radio Operators to participate and talk to people all over the nation/ world. There will be Radio Merit badge counselors onboard at all times during the 24 hour event in the event any Scouting BSA members would like to earn some credit for showing up.
