The "table" is the place of ideas, conversation, laughter and even decision making. Asking for "a place at the table" means wanting to be included and valued. But for Christians, we talk about another Table, where Christ welcomes all of us.
What does it mean for us as Jesus followers to share this table even when we don't agree? Can we break bread together and love one another while we have difficult conversations about faith and sexuality?
Through plenary and breakout sessions, you'll be equipped to take this conversation back to your home congregation, family, and community. You'll hear a range of speakers, from academic scholars of biblical text who have devoted their lives to studying scripture and its application in the 21st century, to parents who just want to love their LGBTQ+ children well. At every session, we will emphasize the need to approach this topic with grace and compassion, with a goal of staying together at Christ's table.
