It was painted by unknown artisans, who used symbolism to express their feelings of happiness, anger, and love in everyday life. Minhwa paintings are typically used to decorate palaces and homes and to celebrate joyful family occasions. Minhwa artist and Korean Center, Inc’s Executive Director Kate Nam will lead the Minhwa Family Workshops. Participants will learn how to paint the peony, typically a symbol of wealth. Once finished, participants will have their own Minhwa work to decorate their homes with!
