Description
Puppyworks is looking for one or more fab humans to join our team. Are you passionate about animal welfare? Are you a friendly, upbeat person with an A+ customer service attitude? Do you have previous professional dog care experience? We want you! What do we do at Puppyworks? We are Seattle's Puppy Day School! We specialize in development, socialization and skill-building for puppies between 8-18 weeks of age. Seattle Puppyworks is the only socialization facility in the Puget Sound area that focuses exclusively on puppies' critical socialization period! We provide a canine academic environment where puppies practice, play and learn together in a safe, sanitary, certified trainer-managed environment. We offer socialization, group classes and one-on-one training to the Seattle region and beyond! What does a Puppyworks workday look like? We are a team of high-speed multitaskers. You may be employing positive reinforcement while also educating a puppy parent on the importance of socialization. Every team member works the front desk, including conducting transactions, checking clients in and out, selling products and services, and scheduling appointments. Though we enforce a low staff-to-puppy ratio, our studio can be busy. Ensuring a safe playgroup can be stressful! Our staff members are skilled at remaining calm during hectic situations and providing top-notch customer service to our dedicated clientele. We also encourage our staff members to give in to the urge and photograph our four-legged friends for our social media posts. But working with puppies isn't all fun and games. Each staff member is responsible for cleaning up puppy messes and ensuring the studio is safe, clean and presentable. What are we looking for in Puppyworks staff members? We encourage you to apply if you: -Have previous professional canine experience (veterinary, pet sitting, kennel, training, etc.). -Have or are working towards a degree in animal science, health or behaviour. -Are physically able to lift(60+ lbs), crawl, crouch, bend and move quickly across our studio. -Have previous customer service experience. -Are passionate about animal behaviour, health and welfare. -Can excel in fast-paced, stressful situations and keep a cool head. -Are a self-starter who can identify studio needs during slower hours. How is our staff compensated for their work? We offer an hourly wage range starting at $17.50 + tips; Increasing based on experience and education. We offer free Puppy Play for our staff whose pups are within the current age range. We are also happy to discuss education assistance for animal-related degrees and certificate programs. What would my schedule look like? We are currently in need of afternoon/evening and weekend shift coverage. How do you apply? Visit our website at seattlepuppyworks.com/careers and fill out our form.
