We’re a small, home-based business selling jewelry online (retail and wholesale distribution) targeted at the tweens-teens-young adult market. We're looking for an assistant to assemble jewelry, ship and fulfill orders twice a week. This is great for someone who's looking for a part time job. Requirements: • Must be able to work at our home studio twice a week in Arcadia. Timing can be flexible • Must be comfortable and eager to learn new things • Excellent communication skills are key • Must have amazing attention to detail while able to work quickly • Must be extremely self-motivated • Excellent general hand-eye coordination We make a majority of our sales in the fourth quarter of the year, so you will need to learn quickly to gear up for the holidays. But this also means work will be slower the rest of the year. We were established in 2006 and have been around a long time, and because we are a micro business, we take extra care in choosing who we work with. Some very important, specific things we’re looking for in a shipping assistant: • We always aim for the long haul. Please don’t apply if you knowingly have plans that make it impossible to work with you (i.e. moving out of state) or if you're only looking for a short term gig. We invest a lot of time training team members and have built lifelong friendships with them. • You care about people and want our customers to have a positive, happy shopping experience with us. • This is a pay-by-piece contract, you have the opportunity to make up to $400-1000/month working only two days a week (hours depend on volume of orders that need shipping) if you practice and become efficient at your job. This is a independent contractor position. You will not be considered an employee nor will you be paid by the hour. You will be taking care of your own taxes. This is not the job for you if you need a stable, consistent income. But it's great for someone who wants to supplement their existing income or want to fill their schedule with a long term position. Benefits: When you are able to do the work without supervision or instruction after you have been trained, you have the option to work from home. So eventually there will be a lot of flexibility and autonomy, provided orders are shipped in a timely manner. We are a no drama, easy going business. This position will start in July!
