Yoga for Calm and Balance, June 30, July 7, July 14, July 21, 5:30 pm -7:00 pm Yoga will be used in a therpeutic manner as a balm to calm the nervous system. Looking for a way to bring balance and ease to the body, mind, and spirit? Yoga Therapy uses the tools of yoga to empower one toward health and healing. In this four week Yoga Therapy series, we will use breathing exercises, meditation, guided imagery, movement, and inquiry to guide you to feeling a renewed connection to yourself, experiencing life with ease and balance. You will have a short one-page assessment to fill out prior to class. Please fill out and send to [email protected]. YAll classes require an assessment beforehand as this allows Linda to craft the Therapy group class to the needs of the students. Week 1: Theme Yogic view on Health and the Mind Body connection Intention/education Introduction to the Yogic View on Health and an open exploration of your physical body Week 2: Theme Yogic Breathing and the Cultivation of Ease Intention/education Introduction to breathing practices to calm the body, mind, and spirit. Deep exploration of conscious breathing and how it can soothe during times of arousal leading to a calm, serene presence Week 3: Theme Cultivating Equanimity through Witness Consciousness Intention/education Developing a state of restful alertness and an ability to observe your mind with a sense of detachment, cultivating equanimity. Week 4: Theme Integration: Cultivating a life in balance and allowing life to unfold with unlimited possibilities Intention/education Release the need to control, but rather take steps in the positive direction, allowing and surrendering to life About the instructor: Linda Kobus is an Advanced Teacher of Therapeutic Yoga (500 RYT). Linda is enthusiastic and passionate about teaching yoga. She experienced a life altering transformation that connected her to her authentic self and awakened her to a new way of being. After many years of severe anxiety, Linda had an experience during meditation in October 2018 that changed her life and opened her up to a new way of interacting with the world. Since this very experience, Linda has completed over 1000 hours of yogic training, deepening her connection to herself and has set on a path of teaching and learning, spreading the knowledge and skills empowering others toward health and healing. She is currently in the Yoga Therapy Program at Kripalu, having just completed all of her content training. She is currently teaching three times a week at a local Yoga Studio and is accepting new Therapy clients. She has two beautiful children named Nicholas and Noah that keeps her busy in her free time.
