"The Ford super van does things no fossil fuel truck could ever do and the green haters can't stand it"
My fossil fuel Ford van can go three hundred miles using the air conditioner and carrying 800 lbs of cargo. The Ford electric van can go one hundred miles with an 800 lb load and using the ac.
My fossil fuel Ford van can refuel in about five minutes and I can go another three hundred miles, repeat, repeat. The Ford electric van will take hours to recharge to go another hundred miles.
After three hundred thousand miles, I can spend four thousand dollars replacing the engine and keep trucking. The Ford electric will need the batteries replaced after three years at the cost of around thirty thousand dollars.
After my fossil fuel Ford van is no longer serviceable it will go to the wrecking yard to be recycled. The Ford electric van will be a environmental hazard for years until they figure out a way to reuse the battery components.
In the meantime, my Ford fossil fuel van will put only about one half the polution into the atmospherics as will the Ford electric/fossil fueled van. Two thirds of the fossil fuel it takes to generate one third equivalent in electrical energy plus loss of electricity during transportation to the charging station that you look for hours to find.
Now watch the environmental nuts go completely nuts.
