CLEVELAND — Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love is expected to miss at least three to four weeks after he re-aggravated a right calf strain Sunday night in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers, the team announced Tuesday.
Love left the game in the second quarter and did not return. An MRI conducted Monday confirmed the injury, which was originally diagnosed in the preseason. The team said that Love will have the injury re-evaluated in three to four weeks.
Love is averaging 9.5 points per game this season but only played nine minutes in Sunday's victory over Philadelphia, which was the Cavaliers' third straight victory to begin the season. Love, who is in his sixth season in Cleveland, averaged 17.6 points and 9.8 rebounds per game in 56 games last season.
Love missed the season-opener with the calf injury before the five-time All-Star returned to the lineup to score 15 points in a victory over the Detroit Pistons.
