Hello fellow jazz fusion players -
I am a 34 year old guitar player trying to find a bassist or keyboardist (or both) that is interested in collaborating on an original jazz fusion project. I'm interested in finding players with the commitment and chops to write new material and cover music from other fusion projects. I would like to write and practice about once a week, with the end goal of gigging locally and recording.
I have been playing guitar for over 20 years, about 12 of them in Austin, TX in other bands. I enjoy groups like Tribal Tech, Herbie Hancock, Snarky Puppy, The Aristocrats, Soulive, Chick Corea, Victor Wooten etc. I have a playing style that sounds like, or at least, I think sounds like, Scott Henderson, Greg Howe, Mark Lettieri, etc. While I'll gladly admit I'm not anywhere near as talented as these players, I certainly strive to be.
Here are some songs I think would be cool to start with (I'm open to your suggestions too):
Actual Proof - Herbie Hancock
One in Seven - Soulive
Proto Cosmos - (lol I'm not sure who wrote this, but I like the Extraction version)
I have recordings I can share with you, and I hope you can do the same.
Best of luck to all the musicians out there!
Thanks!
