The Culver City Public Works Department wants to share the following tips for holiday tree disposal whether you are putting it out for collection or dropping it off at one of the four designated locations listed below:
REMOVE all ornaments, decorations, tinsel, and stands from the treeFlocked or artificial trees cannot be composted, place them in your black container (cutting it into pieces if necessary to fit)
Option 1: REGULAR ORGANICS COLLECTION
If residents wish to put their tree out for collection at their residence, either:
PLACE the tree inside the green bin (cutting it into pieces if necessary to fit) and put out for regular pick-up
OR CUT taller trees into <4 feet pieces and PLACE at your pick-up location (curbside or alley) on the day of your regularly scheduled organics collection
Option 2: PARK-YOUR-TREE PROGRAM
Residents may drop off their (non-flocked, non-artificial) tree at one of the following locations for composting:
Fox Hills Park
Syd Kronenthal Park
Culver West Park
Veterans Park
When dropping off trees, be sure to wear face coverings and use physical distancing of at least 6 feet.
