Artist Studio seeks Handyworker to help with day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs between Artist couple’s multiple properties in Jersey City. The position is part-time to start (2-3 days a week), with the potential to include additional hours. Handyworker must be able to work under the direction of the Artists and Studio Manager, as well as be able to work independently. The ideal candidate has a solid technical skillset, general knowledge of tools and materials, and is reliable. Good quality work and ability to problem solve is a must! Duties: - Maintain orderliness/cleanliness of studio including storage areas, wood shop, trash and recycling receptacles - Ensure tools and equipment are in working order, and fix as necessary - Repair and paint doors, windows, ceilings, and other parts of buildings - Build and demo walls, replace flooring, install cabinets and appliances - Ability to lift and move heavy objects, sculptures, and materials - Minor electrical and plumbing is a plus - Help with artist projects as needed The position is to be filled ASAP.
