Seeking Bass or Guitar

Description

Seeking Bass or Guitar (possibly open to pay for practice/gigs based on experience) - Greenpoint, LIC, Astoria or Williamsburg We are a relatively new band that played our first full-band show to around 50-60 people in mid-May 2022 at a great bar with an outdoor patio in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. We've been asked if we'd like to play there again - and likely will at some point - but are keyed in on a next date in late September 2022 in Greenpoint/East Village or Queens. Our core band is a drummer and guitarist/bassist who sings and we are in our mid to late 30s. Our other member who played the show with us and close friends we've played with in the past all have difficulty practicing at the level and consistency we are aiming for (approx. 3-4 practices a month, 5-6 a month leading up to a show / or if you can learn and execute parts at-home really well maybe 1-3 a month). We are open to either a bass player or guitarist (the current guitar playing singer can switch to bass as he's played bass in other groups). We are looking for someone who is committed and reliable around band practice attendance and committing to the song's musical parts. We def. leave room for some improvisation in the form of solos within the song as well as transitions, but we like to get the song structures consistent and well-rehearsed. If you are professional or an amateur who plays for add'l cash, we'd be open to some agreement around pay for practices and shows (if you have rates please send those in the response). You def. don't need to be a professional musician - we def. aren't - but we'd ask that members practice at-home and rehearse so that we sound as best as we can. We have a mix of rock & roll, psych rock and more mellow folk/country tunes - but are looking to focus on a more rock & roll oriented-set for the late Sept. gig we are lining up. We currently have a practice share in Gowanus but are interested in moving our practices to either a monthly or hourly spot in Greenpoint, LIC, Astoria or Williamsburg. So we'd ask that those are easy for you to get to on a weekly basis. We'd like to keep a consistent evening to practice or be very communicative about schedules. 2. We'd love for you to learn 1-2 of the songs (we have and could supply chords/tabs and perhaps a demo for you to play along to) and come hang and play 1-2 tunes with us at an hourly space for 1-2 hours that'd be easy for you to get to. We'd take care of the $ for the hourly space to see if its a good match and would def. bring ya a beer or two if you'd like. 3. We are looking for someone who is 1) reliable 2) committed to playing the song's parts/writing new agreed-upon lines 3) a good hang who doesn't mind rehearsing a song several times to make sure the group is comfortable w/ the parts/structure. We don't mind rehearsing the tunes and are pretty easy going when we mess up and need to keep working at it. Thank you and looking forward to hearing back!
