Topics covered include handling, positioning, footwork, communication, warm-ups and mental skills for successful goalkeeping. This course is designed to teach coaches to provide safe and meaningful goalkeeper training for youth and entry-level goalkeepers. Level 2 Diploma Overview: The United Soccer Coaches Level 2 Goalkeeping Diploma is designed to build on the introduction to coaching goalkeepers offered in Level 1 and offer much more technical details for the skills of goalkeeping. Although there will be some tactical training and considerations in the Level 2, the intent is to train the techniques of goalkeeping progressively and offer the coach candidate the knowledge to safely and successfully train and develop the technical skills of novice and intermediate goalkeepers of all ages.
