JUAN JOSÉ BARRÓN Guitarist and composer Considered today, as one of the best and most representative guitarists in Mexico, for its extraordinary and increasingly scarce quality of combining in one person, the academic rigor of classical music, with the lyricism of popular music. He has been awarded 11 national awards in his different facets as a guitarist, and has also received distinctions and awards as a composer in different countries such as: Spain, United States, Mexico, Colombia, Puerto Rico, and Cuba. He studied at the Music School of the University of Guanajuato. In 1991, he was awarded the “Andrés Segovia” Scholarship, to study interpretation of Spanish music with the Mtro. José Luís Rodrigo, in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Juan José has received 2 scholarships for artistic stimulation, awarded by the National Council for Culture and Arts (Conaculta) in the field of creators with a career. He has participated in important festivals around the world obtaining great success. On several occasions he has toured as a guest soloist in the concert seasons of the following Orchestras: Guanajuato Symphony, Michoacán Symphony, Bajío Philharmonic, Morelia Symphony, León Chamber Orchestra, Bilbao Chamber Orchestra, Spain, León Chamber Orchestra, Spain. He has taught schools like: Conservatory of the Roses of Morelia, Mich. Faculty of Fine Arts of the Autonomous University of Querétaro. He has also taught master classes at different international festivals in Mexico, the USA, Spain and Austria. He is currently Director and Teacher of “CREATIVA” Modern Institute of Music and Arts A.C., in Salamanca, Gto.
