Presented by Blue Cobweb, Your Word Witch
Everyone can write poetry - whether you compose with pen and paper, iPad, fabric paint on a vintage leather jacket, laptop, in the nighttime sky with a sparkler, or chalk on the sidewalk!
In this, her fourth poetry workshoppe, Blue Cobweb wishes to celebrate our companion animals and our familiars (when we’re really lucky, they will be one and the same) in poetic form. For so many of us, our first, most loyal, most loving friend was a furchild. Their warm and constant acceptance showed us purrfect (!) love. We’ll also be discussing, paying tribute and immortalising our furry (or feathered) familiars - whether actual or imagined!
Blue Cobweb will be talking about the magick of poetry, and sharing some of her sonnets and spells. She will set writing sessions with time limits and poetic prompts. Everyone will then share their own verses. She'd love to see the energy of this group manifesting in heartfelt poetry, and is looking forward to hearing everyone's work!
Donna (Blue Cobweb) is a proud feminist activist, writer, dog mum, and ‘came out’ as a Witch in 2019 - after identifying as a Witch most of her life. She always felt an affinity with Malificent in ‘Sleeping Beauty’ and the ‘Wicked Witch’ in ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Her preferred method of spellcasting is with candles and herbs; she is deeply happy with writing her own spells. Some of her favorite things are writing, reading, music, her canine familiar Cobweb, raccoon videos, and spending time absorbing the marvelously witchy atmosphere of Coven. She’s looking forward to sharing her love of writing with everyone!
A portion of every ticket sale goes to Preterm Cleveland.
