Conserve Utah Valley is hosting a guided hike from Rock Canyon to Slate Canyon. Come and see the natural wonders of Utah Valley as we explore this area together. Join knowledgeable hike leads who will help us travel.
There will be three options for people depending on what level of difficulty you are looking for.
The first option for hiking is an 8.5 mile hike from Rock Canyon to Slate Canyon with over 3000 feet of elevation gain.
For those who would like a shorter hike, a group will also be able to come down through the Y-Mountain Trail. This will cut off about 1.5 miles and several hundred feet of elevation gain.
If you're more into running, Runner's Corner is including this event in their Mountain Goat Trail Series. This will be an 11 mile run from Rock Canyon to Slate Canyon, and then back to Rock Canyon along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail.
The hike will begin at 6:30 am so start arriving at the Rock Canyon trailhead around 6:00 am. Runners will meet at 7 am and begin running at 7:10 am.
For those hiking either plan on bringing two cars to shuttle back to the Rock Canyon trailhead, catch a ride with someone else, or hike along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail back to Rock Canyon.
Everyone will be responsible for bringing their own water and snacks.
