European Egg Dying Workshop

Come learn the art of European egg dying with local traditional artist, Ingrid Hersman. Since her childhood in Germany, Ingrid has carried on her family’s tradition of decorating eggs. She has studied and acquired skills in a variety of techniques and styles found throughout Europe including the batik-dye method, commonly recognized as Ukrainian Pysanky.  In this beginner workshop, you will create your own decorative eggs using traditional tools, melted beeswax , and vibrant dyes. All materials are provided by the Utah Division of Arts and Museums. Enrollment is FREE and open to the public, recommended for ages 10 and up. If you would like to attend in a group, please register each person in your party individually. Reserve your spot using Eventbrite registration. Please also remember to cancel your registration if you cannot attend for any reason.
