Join the Group for the East End at Downs Farm Preserve in Cutchogue as we celebrate our 50th anniversary year! We invite you and your little ones to create a visual butterfly life cycle!
In this family-friendly gathering, we will use foods like jelly beans and pasta to make a visual guide of the metamorphosis cycle from egg to a full-grown butterfly! Participants will also be able to cut and color leaf backdrops for each of the stages. This activity allows for the creativity of using food of different shapes and sizes, as well as an educational lesson on the life cycle of butterflies. We will be using paper plates, hot glue (must have an adult to help with this part), jelly beans, pasta, paper, scissors, crayons and/or markers to create this diagram. And, it's yours to keep!
