About animal companionship and mental health Pets, especially dogs and cats, can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, ease loneliness, encourage exercise and playfulness, and even improve your cardiovascular health. Caring for an animal can help children grow up more secure and active. Pets also provide valuable companionship for older adults. Fashion shows have always brought people together Lee County Cultural Arts Group and Lee County Arts Council, have teamed up to bring the art of fashion design together with our pet lovers’ fashion trends for a display of pet pride and to bring awareness to the mental health benefits of emotional support animals and service dogs. Photography and Painted Portraits Pictures say a thousand words as the artists and photographer capture these moments and portraits of our interactions with animal companions and hear the testimonies of survival and healing due to the service of our support animals. These images will be used in an exhibit at the Lee County Arts Council and may be purchased or auctioned for donations to support the Lee County Arts Council programs.
