In May 2019, a group of intrepid OLLI Members joined Clemson University undergraduate students for the trip of a lifetime: Mount Kilimanjaro and safari into the Serengeti. Hear what we discovered about the country and the region, as we spent time outside the expected tourist destinations as guests in a small village and school on the side of Kilimanjaro. Hear stories (and see pictures) of uncomfortably curious elephants, lions in the rain, a monkey who stole corn muffins, why zebras and wildebeest migrate together and how avocadoes are best harvested by slingshot.
