We will be meeting at the Polk Discovery Nature Center at Circle B Reserve in Lakeland, FL! This is a partial tram tour and partial environmental activity day.
Possible Activities: Dip netting, Invasive plant ID and removal, Bird beak/feet adaptions, Water quality testing, Enviroscape scenario, Predator/Prey, GPS, Camouflage, Hiking
If you would like a snack or to eat lunch there, please bring it with you as there is no place to purchase food at this location. Remember to bring the following:
WaterClosed toed shoes (recommended by the center)Long pants (recommended by the center)Change of clothes and towel (if it looks like a rainy day)SunscreenBug sprayThe Discovery Center is air conditioned with restrooms. Parents are welcome on the tram tour and may relax in the Discovery Center, at a picnic pavilion, or on a hike during the student activity.
