$1.7 Trillion & Inflation I went back and checked. No Republicans voted for the unneeded stimulus that was the crowning burning achievement of the Biden administration. The money set an already overheated economy on fire. Inflation is now burning everything away including any Democrat hopes for their reelection. It doesn't matter, though. The damage is done. People are going to lose jobs and homes and lives because what is left in the economy will be so expensive that no one can afford anything. A recession is coming. I'm no economist but I think it's here. More data is coming and will tell us. What's happening now is called stagflation and old people like me remember it. Just like the 70s, it was an era of hippies and body odor and ugly leftists dictating everything. And just like that time, these free-love idiots didn't understand economics or rules of social decorum. There were race riots and cities were destroyed (Detroit still hasn't recovered). There were perverted sexual mores that are now even more insidious and more depraved (we have people on the right defending trans strippers and we have leftist mothers giving their reluctant children money to give to grooming pedophiles.) Next up, for the Millennials who were taken in by the climate crisis lies that have led to this unsustainable energy policy, will be lentil soup and bean sprouts and carob because they won't have money for meat or the gas or electricity to cook it. America and the world aren't even 1/4 of the way into the pain that is coming. A decade from now, there will be LiveAid shows again to help the people who are starving in Africa and maybe even Europe. We ain't seen nothing yet. The economic instability will cause civil wars. There will be more strife in America. Maybe some pain will sober up the white suburban moms who've known nothing but privilege. Maybe. No matter. These privileged ladies will suffer just the same and probably be mystified by their misery. How did this happen? This is the question all commies, socialists, environmentalists, fascists, and other totalitarians always ask. We were just trying to make the world equitable. We were just trying to make the world safe. The world doesn't end up safe or equitable. It ends up ruined while government officials live largely and talk condescendingly about electric cars. There is nowhere to hide from this pain. Even crypto won't save the tech bros. No this is going to hurt everyone, everywhere, and for a long time. EXCEPT. It won't hurt the lawmakers. They voted themselves a raise, remember. It won't hurt the billionaires. They can absorb the losses. I asked folks on Twitter whether they think Dems are incompetent or destroying the economy on purpose. 69%, so far, are saying that this is planned destruction. That's interesting. What say you? If it's planned, is it to bring about an environmental utopia? Whatever the reason, it's a disaster and it's going to be even worse a year from now.
