Prepper/Helper: The auto body prepper is responsible for providing correct technical preparation like inspecting, prepping and polishing of vehicles in order to get them ready to be painted. Help with reassembly of vehicle, replace final moldings, trim and detail pieces. May help with general maintenance of paint booths. Remove grease, dirt, paint, or rust from vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application. Assist Paint Technician by preparing vehicles and parts for painting using proper techniques, equipment and materials. Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair. Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management. Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles. Ensure shop cleanliness, tools are stored properly and maintained. EXPERIENCE / SKILL REQUIREMENTS MAY VARY DEPENDING ON POSITION: • Prior automotive painting and refinishing process experience required • Prior paint-prep experience preferred -- sanding, masking, prepping and blending (5 year minimum) • High School diploma/GED preferred. Collision tech graduate preferred. • Knowledge of auto manufacturers repair/refinishing processes. • Ability to receive direction and work well with others. • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record. **Must be able to work in the US/ have valid work permit.
