Job Description: We’re looking for a Part-Time skilled Maintenance Worker / Groundskeeper to perform upkeep tasks such as repairs and cleaning for a property located on a half acre in Malibu, CA property. In this role, you will address common maintenance issues across the entire property, performing repairs and installations as well as recommending subcontractors for serious infrastructural projects. You must be able to address the owner of property issues, such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc. Our ideal candidate has several years of professional experience in property management and maintenance, along with reliable transportation and a flexible schedule to respond to emergencies as they arise. Responsibilities: • Inspect routinely, the house, yard, pool, and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running and working properly • Supervise the regular cleaning and maintenance of the swimming pool and hot tub to promote safe and healthy swimming conditions • Develop and maintain a good relationship with contractors, vendors, and site workers • Ensure that property is safe and void of any danger to the guests, and workers by putting away harmful objects/equipment, and preventing possible emergencies • Diagnose and carry out repairs on minor problems, such as light fixtures, clogged toilets, leakages, broken furniture, etc. • Check electrical wiring for accuracy and compliance to avoid accidents • Maintain open communication with property owner for information regarding operations, renovations, and authorizations Requirements and skills: • Proven experience as a property manager or maintenance worker • Required to have mechanical skills to handle minor repairs and fixtures • Knowing how to solve potential electrical problems and carry out minor repairs • Basic knowledge of HVAC and plumbing • Strong communications skills for effective solutions • Able to pass a federal and state background check • Reliable means of transportation • Able to dedicate 10-15 hours a week
