Second Use Building Materials, Seattle’s largest architectural salvage yard, is seeking a full time Yard Crew Member to work in our retail store. WHO WE ARE Second Use is a community-focused business dedicated to diverting a wide range of reusable building materials from the landfill and selling them to the public at an affordable cost through our retail store. Our Yard Team Members are an integral part of retail store operations and assist in moving material within our store, providing excellent customer service, and achieving merchandising goals. BENEFITS Medical Dental Paid time off Employee discount Quarterly store credit dividends JOB DESCRIPTION Second Use is looking for a team member to join The Yard Crew in our retail store. This position is a fast-paced, highly physical role with a focus on managing materials flowing into the store and assisting our customers with questions and load-outs. Typical work functions: Provide friendly and professional customer service to our customers and suppliers Assist customers with finding and loading materials Stock incoming material in the store Achieve merchandising goals Help maintain correct inventory Housekeeping and cleaning tasks Typically work four, ten-hour days. Weekend work is required Crossover work in other parts of the business, such as receiving, salvage team and customer service, to help with overall business needs. An ideal candidate will have these qualifications: Self-motivated and reliable worker Enthusiasm for a safe work environment Willing to put in a full 10 hour day at 100% Able/willing to safely lift 75 lbs and move heavy materials all day long Experience with building materials Experience with positive team leadership Knowledge of building materials If you are interested in joining the Second Use team, please send a cover letter explaining why you are interested in the position, along with a resume detailing your qualifications.
