Researchers at The Smith-Kettlewell Eye Research Institute in the Pacific Heights area of San Francisco are seeking participants for an exciting Clinical Trial on improving the spatial cognition and navigational abilities of low-vision and blindness individuals through a unique rehabilitation training. Measurements of the participant’s fMRI brain activity, virtual reality navigation, and behavioral testing which involve sensory, spatial cognition, and memory will take place before, after, and 3-months after the rehabilitation training. The rehabilitation training will take 2 hours a day for 5 days. You are eligible to participate if you are: - 18 years or older - English speaking - Diagnosed low-vision (<20/500) or blind - Right-hand dominant - No metal implants, pacemakers, or tattoos - No formal training in art - Located in the San Francisco Bay Area - Full COVID immunization Participants will be compensated from $20 per hour during the training and behavioral testing and $30 per hour during the MRI scan, plus travel/parking reimbursement.
