Description
As the title says, drummer (51, male) in Wilson and singer (40s, female) in Greenville, seeking musicians to fill out a variety band. We have both been in pro bands and would like similarly minded musicians who, like us, play music primarily for fun but also like to run a respected pro operation and play nice venues/events beyond backyard parties. (Those can be fun but we'd like to also play local festivals and established venues.) We'd like versatile players who can cover rock (from blues-y to pop to slightly heavy- likely won't venture into metal), funk/dance, maybe a little reggae & ska. Probably not seeking to do much country aside from an occasional Stapleton/Simpson or classic Cash/Nelson tune.
We may have a rhythm guitarist / co-lead singer but it's not set in stone yet, so at this point we're open to all the main melodic components (guitars, bass, keys). We're also open to horn players but don't want to end up with 8 people in the band, so multi-instrumentalists are a plus.
Lastly but MOST importantly: bands with good relationships, both musical and personal, start with honest and open conversations. Anyone who thinks it's appropriate to handle issues without these conversations, but instead, by being duplicitous or otherwise sneaky & shady, can pass us by. We want reasonable, rational, and mentally mature adults only. We are open to almost any age- unless you need a chaperone or a shuttle from the nursing home- but this maturity requirement is for both musical and personal compatibility.
