World Of Illumination Donates $25K To Make-A-Wish Arizona

PHOENIX — A local holiday mainstay is giving back this year in a big way. Simon Kreisberger and Yakir Urman, the co-founders of the World of Illumination light show, announced they will be donating $25,000 of its ticket earnings to Make-A-Wish Arizona. The nonprofit helps grant wishes to sick children throughout the state; the national organization was founded in the Valley. "It's so important for us as a valley business to give back to the community that has done so much for us," Kreisberger said in a statement. "It is a privilege to be in a position to impact our state in a positive way." This is the second year the light show has partnered with Make-A-Wish. Partnerships with the Johnjay and Rich #LoveUp Foundation and Subaru's Share the Love campaign also set aside tickets for Valley wish kids and foster children. World of Illumination also donated hundreds of tickets to frontline workers and their families in light of the pandemic. World of Illumination is considered the world's largest drive-through animated light show, featuring millions of lights and displays set to holiday music. The shows have locations in Tempe and Glendale, as well as one in Marietta, Georgia. Some of the proceeds from the latter have gone to Make-A-Wish Georgia. Current theme park locations include Tempe and Glendale, Arizona, and Marietta, Georgia.
