POSITION TITLE: PROJECT LABORER DEPARTMENT: ASSET DEPARTMENT SUPERVISOR: ASSET MANAGER SALARY: $2511 - $3274 monthly ($14.49 - $18.89 hourly) HOURS: 8:00 – 5:00 Monday – Friday FLEXIBLE LOCATION: Longview, WA POSITION OVERVIEW: This position serves as an entry level laborer on rehab and project activities at properties owned by HOSWWA as projected in the annual capital budgets. JOB DUTY OUTLINE: 1. Provide basic skills and assist more seasoned laborers in completing rehabilitation projects. 2. Operate hand tools and learn to use power tools to complete jobs and other tasks as assigned by Maintenance Supervisor. 3. Maintain compliance with onsite safety program. 4. Maintain and submit required paperwork. 5. Defines and commits to adhere to high standards of performance personally. SKILLS AND ABILITIES 1. Ability to complete assigned tasks timely and efficiently. 2. Familiarity with basic common carpentry tasks. 3. Familiarity with the tools of the trade. 4. Ability to maintain personal records. 5. Ability to perform heavy physical work. 6. Good written and verbal communication skills 7. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with supervisors, associates, and clients. 8. Ability to work as directed with only general supervision from Maintenance Supervisor. 9. Ability to organize time to assure attention to special projects and day to day responsibilities. 10. Ability to handle situations and problems in resourceful, creative ways. 11. Looks for opportunities to improve organization's processes. Strives to find ways to make everyone's job easier. QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Experience): 1. Education: High school diploma or GED 2. Experience: Prefer 6 months to 1 year experience in labor intensive job duties. 3. Capable of working effectively with others at all levels of the organization, contractors, and other professionals. 4. Finds ways to adjust to working in different situations and with people who have different styles. 5. Must have and maintain a valid Washington State Motor Vehicle Operators License with fully insurable driving record and current auto insurance 4. Must pass a background check. 5. Must pass a drug test. WORKING ENVIRONMENT: PHYSICAL: This position requires physical strength, agility, reaching, lifting, pushing, and pulling. Must have the ability to work out-of-doors and under adverse weather conditions. MENTAL: This position consists of 10% administrative tasks, which include, but is not limited to, issuing/tracking work orders to ensure completion within required guidelines. The remaining 90% are hands-on construction tasks.
