Purchasing Agent
Middleton based distribution and light manufacturing company is currently looking for a Purchasing Agent. This is your chance to join our team in a diverse position that offers the opportunity for working with people both internal and external to the company. The successful candidate will be highly organized, efficient and have a good understanding of inventory, procurement, and customer service.
Duties:
• Manage inventory levels for stock and production
• Create POs for inventory
• Create POs for customer drop ships
• Manage product costs
• Authorize payments to vendors
• Negotiate with vendors
• Help Customer Service staff as needed
• Create production reports from inventory levels
• Other duties as needed
Qualifications/Skills:
• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in purchasing for inventory
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong people skills, both internal and external to the company
• Knowledge of and ability to use computers efficiently
• Proficient with Excel
• QuickBooks experience a plus
• Good mathematical skills
• Ability to pay close attention to detail
• Good analytical and negotiation skills
• Must be able to work independently and as a team
