Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Events and Sales Manager to manage our event bookings. Our events occur throughout NYC, Long Island, Connecticut, New Jersey and Lower Westchester count. The Events Manager will have the responsibility of managing all events for the organization. The Events Manager oversees all aspects of event planning and management.
A successful candidate will be extremely organized and be able to manage the logistics of multiple events simultaneously. A summary of the responsibilities for the Event Manager include meeting with clients to work out event details, plan with the client, scout and book events, food, entertainment, staff and cleanup. The Event Manager also creates event proposals and presenting proposals to prospective clients, as well as put together banquet event orders and contracts.
Responsibilties:
• Understand requirements for each event
• Plan event with attention to financial and time constraints
• Research vendors (catering, decorators, musicians etc.) and choose the best combination of quality and cost
• Negotiate with vendors to achieve the most favorable terms
• Hire personnel
• Manage all event operations (preparing venue, invitations etc.)
• Do final checks at the day of the event (e.g. tables, technology) to ensure everything meets standards
• Oversee event happenings and act quickly to resolve problems
• Evaluate event’s success and submit reports
Requirements:
- Proven work experience as a Sales Director, Events Coordinator, Events Manager
- Well versed in marketing, event management platforms
- Hands on experience in creating proposals, contracts, and BEOs
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and verbal skills
- Availability to work full time, when needed
