XTEND PACKAGING INCORPORATED Sewing Machine Operator & HYBRID WORKER (Sewing Department I) Xtend Packaging, Inc. located in Houston, TX specializes in corrosion preservation and prevention by fabricating bags made of a special plastic and fabric material that are used to wrap industrial equipment. We are seeking qualified sewing professionals with at least 3 years + experience in commercial/industrial sewing applications such as upholstery, awning, and canopy sewing using canvas type fabric material or similar. Key Duties & Responsibilities: • Sew using commercial/industrial sewing equipment • Familiarity with sewing equipment and general sewing operations, methodology • Ability to repair/replace parts of sewing machine without need for instruction • Strong attention to detail and ability to replicate work based on provided samples • Ensure that products are made to company standards • ADDITIONAL WAREHOUSE DUTIES AS ASSIGNED. PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid worker position. When not working as a sewer, the rest of your time will be spent working as a warehouse worker in the production and manufacturing of plastic bags. Requirements: -Must be a sewer by profession or have the requisite skills. This is not a training position. -Must be able to maintain sewing machine and diagnose, repair issues as they occur. -Must have the ability to see a completed product and replicate its design without a manual. -Must be willing to perform other duties as assigned. Education/Experience: 3+ years in commercial/industrial sewing required for consideration. Applicants must be conversational in English for safety reasons on the warehouse floor. Se habla Espanol.
