Link to Rehome profile: https://www.adoptapet.com/pet/35022450-jacksonville-florida-american-pit-bull-terrier-mix Rehome charges an adoption fee set by the information provided that goes straight to supporting the local shelter, not to private owners. I will ONLY be processing adoptions/working with potential adopters through Rehome and I can NOT modify the adoption fee. Please do not ask. A little more information: Sylum’s profile is flagged as needing to rehome due to behavioral issues, but I would say the issues are more mine than his. He is truly nothing short of a phenomenal dog, and I love him to pieces (I will be vetting prospective homes fully and would like to stay in touch with his future adopter) - unfortunately, my anxiety makes it hard for me to work through this. Up until an incident escalated a couple of weeks ago, we had been working on his mouthiness and he had been making phenomenal progress (just a little bit too much so for a year and a half old but not completely out of the ordinary). What Sylum and I are looking for from you: No children (he’s a bit nervous around them, older ones might be fine but ideally not) Cats - unknown; he’s interacted with our neighbor’s cat a handful of times and seemed disinterested but that cat is also an exception Dogs - yes please! Sylum LOVES to play with other dogs. I have a senior at home and they get along, but he really needs someone to romp with. You - experienced handler, preferably familiar with bully breeds. He does great at the park or daycare, but is leash reactive so prospects need to be familiar with handling and coaching through that. Fenced in yard (high fence needed) or someone who can take him on long walks multiple times a day - he really loves to lay out in the sun and tan his belly. Needs someone who loves to play fetch, or that has an auto ball launcher! Knows quite a few tricks, and is housebroken, but is on a pretty strict routine (every 2-2.5 hours) - I work from home, so SOMEONE being home is ideal. He is crate-trained but will not be able to send him with one. JHS has evaluated and has a behavioral program he could participate in with his new parent if desired, I can put you all in touch. Would prefer references from vet and/or previous trainers. Please email for more information or with questions!
