About the BookHow to Destroy an Eclipse and Other Tales of Redemption: The Jersey Years (Termino Editorial, 2022) is a celebration of friendship, an account of first love, and - most importantly - an apology for leaving the people you grow up with as well as a tale of spiritual and personal survival. The book is a fictionalized memoir coming-of-age story set in New Jersey of the late 1980s and mid-1990s. Melody Moezzi, author of The Rumi Prescription and Haldol and Hyacinths writes: “Fabio Hurtado’s gorgeous cross-cultural memoir, How to Destroy an Eclipse and Other Tales of Redemption: The Jersey Years, is brilliant, engaging, and powerful. Brimming with wit and wisdom, it is a testament to the power of love, friendship, and family. Part coming-of-age story, part love story, and part thriller, Hurtado’s memoir is beautifully written and downright unputdownable. Hurtado is a masterful writer who keeps his readers guessing, laughing, and connecting with his words on every page.” How to Destroy an Eclipse and Other Tales of Redemption: The Jersey Years is a celebration of friendship, an account of first love, and - most importantly - an apology for leaving the people you grow up with as well as a tale of spiritual and personal survival. About the AuthorFabio Alberto Hurtado was born in La Habana, Cuba at Hijas de Galicia Hospital in February 1971. He attended Cuban schools until the 5th grade and fled Cuba in September 1980.
