Patches of Light provides assistance to families with critically or terminally ill children. Founded in Hilliard, Patches of Light was created after 2 of the sons of its founder, Mindy Atwood, experienced critical illnesses. Mindy says that every card, meal and kindness shown them was like a patch of light in their darkness which is how she came up with the name of the non-profit she started over 20 years ago. Patches of Light assists families by providing rent money, paying for utility bills, auto repairs and just about anything else a family needs so that they can stay with their child while they are in the hospital. It also provide Hug bags and other comforting items to the children. The founders of ONEHOPE saw first hand just how much impact a bottle of wine can have. They began hosting wine tastings to raise noney for important causes and encouraged and inspired other to do the same. Today, ONEHOPE is one of the largest direct-to-consumer wineries in the world and has proudly donated over $8 million to local and global causes. The ONEHOPE Foundation gives to organizations that provide greater access to water, hunger relief, health, and education-while also supporting local non-profits across the country.
