Description

The Pro Players Association will present “Tackle Cancer” Celebrity Charity Golf Classic to benefit multiple myeloma research at the UC Anschutz Cancer Center. The event will be held in memory of "Football's Standout Quarterback" Babe Parilli, a great friend and charter member of the Pro Players Association. Babe passed after a long, brave battle with multiple myeloma in July 2017. We are proud to hold this 1st Annual fund and ‘fun’ raising event at the Ridge at Castle Pines North Golf Club, Castle Pines, CO. Teams will be comprised of a foursome partnered with a Celebrity Captain. Teams will compete for awards and prizes. First, second and third place team members will each receive trophies. Several hole and distance contests will be held awarding prizes for the winners. Celebrity personalities from pro sports, media, and entertainment are volunteering their time and talents to this prestigious event. Many of the pros participating were coached by Babe. Several of the celebrities who have signed up so far include Denver Broncos Billy Van Heusen, Steve Watson, Bucky Dilts, Chris Brewer, Larry Evans, Ron Egloff, Michael Ditchfield, other pro football players include Mark McGrath, Timmy Smith, Bobby Pesavento. Other pro athletes include Team USA Jiujitsu Master Felix Claudio, US Freestyle Skiing John Sandy Santucci. Several celebrities who do not golf will be on hand to meet and greet including Denver Broncos Ron Cramer, Greg Boyd, Mark Cooper, Media: Mile High Sports Radio's Gil Whiteley, Motorsports Media's Kurt Hansen, more to follow... A Silent Auction will take place throughout the event culminating during the awards ceremony; a Live Auction featuring some special and unique items will take place during the luncheon. The Auction will present an incredible variety of memorabilia, collectibles, consumer electronics, travel and special event opportunities, and gift cards for merchant's goods and services. Pro Players Association is proud to have been sanctioned by the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus to raise funds on their behalf. The tournament was postponed from last year due to Covid, so the attached letter is to suffice for this year's event. We urge you to join our team effort to help generate much needed funding for this worthy cause. High-risk, high-reward initiatives being explored at the CU Anschutz Cancer Center are often where bold breakthroughs occur. Your support today will accelerate their progress toward a future in which myeloma is a disease of the past. Help us to make a contribution towards cancer research, helping the fight to find a cure!
