ISO medium-large dog for PTSD sufferer

Hi, this may be a long shot, but it’s worth trying. I am a young adult with PTSD. My symptoms are chronic and debilitating. I have multiple panic attacks per day and I often cannot function out of fear. Recently, my home was broken into while I was asleep and items were stolen. I no longer feel safe anywhere. So, I’m looking for a companion dog to help me build my confidence and deter further break-ins. Ideally I would be able to train this dog to guard me and do some light service dog type tasks. I would love a dog with a medium energy level, who loves walks and hikes and camping as well as slower low energy short walks days. This dog also must be cat-tolerant, as I have a cat that I treat like my baby. I have been looking at shelter dogs, but most in my area are aggressive towards small animals (no fault to these dogs, just not what I need). I have no trouble paying a rehoming fee for the right dog. Please reach out to me with any further questions.
