Summary Objective: The Aquatics Preventive Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing and supervising appropriate preventive maintenance for US Fitness Group aquatics facilities.  They will assist the Director of Aquatics to create systems and best practices that result in increasingly reliable and admirable aquatics operations. The Aquatics Preventive Maintenance Technician will also provide specialized individual and group training on proper aquatics operation and preventive maintenance and strive to instill a culture of pride and excellence among USF team members throughout the region. Essential Functions: Deliver the ultimate fitness experience to every member, every time. Travel to assigned US Fitness locations to perform routine audits and scheduled preventive maintenance on all pools and aquatics mechanical systems. Troubleshoot and report and pool issues to the Director of Aquatics. Provide scheduled and just-in-time training for aquatics personnel and club management teams. Abide by all OSHA safety regulations and ensure a safe environment for our members Travel from home club to assigned club locations with aquatics facilities as scheduled by Aquatics Director to complete repairs and maintenance and inspections on pool and spa equipment Provide aquatic operation support to multiple regions remotely in USF clubs Provide higher skill levels in aquatic chemical controllers and data readings Help Director of Aquatics assess aquatic liability at each club Job Responsibilities: Assist Director of Aquatics with procurement of permits from the Department(s) of Health. Coordinate with the Director of Aquatics and General Managers to plan and execute preventive maintenance and staff development at assigned club locations. Be familiar with plumbing, electrical, pool chemicals, filters and general pool maintenance Interact with members, guests, and employees in a positive professional manner Identify any issues regarding safety, hazardous conditions or aquatics needs and correct them or report them to the Regional Aquatics Technician and/or Director of Aquatics Ensure upkeep of pool appearance and surrounding areas and report any issues to the GM. Accurately complete records in appropriate software regarding service requests, preventative maintenance, and ongoing projects Make sure all work is conducted in compliance with US Fitness and OSHA safety guidelines Attend all mandatory meetings Assume other duties as assigned Work early morning, evening, and weekend hours as necessary  Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:  Strong work ethic that includes punctuality, organization, and attention to detail Ability to maintain a friendly, enthusiastic, and positive attitude Outwardly facing professional appearance Confidence and desire to create new relationships quickly Ability to quickly acquire and apply new knowledge and skills Ability to handle challenging customer experiences with patience, tact, and professionalism Ability to properly maintain aquatics facilities and to perform repairs and maintenance on equipment Superior sense of customer service at all times Willingness to work flexible hours Communicate effectively verbally Maintain a positive attitude and demeanor at all times Work well under pressure Proficiency in verbal and written English  Required Experience, Education & Certifications: 2-5 years of previous experience in aquatics Valid Driver’s License Physical Activities, Requirements, Visual Acuity & Working Conditions: Physical demands listed here are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform essential job functions. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. Heavy work. Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operates machines, such as lathes, drill presses, power saws, and mills where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performs mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature, such as carpenter, technicians, service people, plumbers, painters, mechanics, etc. The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to both environmental conditions. Activities occur inside and outside. The worker is subject to noise. There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level. The worker is subject to vibration. Exposure to oscillating movements of the extremities or whole body. The worker is subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals. Worker shall wear long pants and safety-toe boots while performing maintenance functions. The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions. One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system of the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation. The worker is frequently in close quarters, crawl spaces, shafts, man holes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes, and other areas that could cause claustrophobia.
